Someone's Opinion of the Mass

A reporter said recently that "the theology of the Mass in 1570 and the Mass of 1969 is not the same". He also stated that if we allow both to exist then, "it will give the impression of relativism". He said that you cannot allow the Church to have two different senses of theology; there can only be one. He also said, "liturgy and theology are one, and if you change the theology, you must change the liturgy" because it is not "the same Church, the same members, or the same priesthood". His interviewer said, "the way we celebrate Mass must reflect what we believe".
Now, you may be thinking this is a pretty extreme traditionalist attacking the Novus Ordo. Although there are some who would say that, they are not the majority. That is, however, not the case here. This reporter was not attacking the Novus Ordo, he was defending it! He said this as an argument that we need to eradicate every other form of the Mass except the Novus Ordo. He actually approves of the idea that in the late 60's the Church "changed" her theology, and thus changed the Mass to fit with that new theology. This is why, he says, the "old forms" must not be allowed to be celebrated because they will create division in the Church. He openly stated that in his view the "old Mass" and the "new Mass" are not teaching the same thing!
Sadly, he is correct, but for the wrong reasons. If the Mass in 1570 was right at the time, then how can a "new theology" ever be right? As Catholics we must acknowledge that any theology that contradicts what the Church has always taught is wrong. As in, "W" "R" "O" "N" "G". Another way of putting it would be to say that the new theology is heretical (just to make sure I am not failing in clarity). And thus, any Mass that is aiming at promoting a heretical theology has problems. I do not know the minds of the men who developed the Novus Ordo, so I do not know whether they were aiming at promoting a new theology, but if that is the case then it should be clear we have a problem.
Clearly this reporter and his interviewer both want to change the Church. They both want to reject the historic Church and replace it with a modernist and protestantized "church" that is not the Church that Jesus founded and gave to the Apostles to develop. At least they are finally admitting it where they stand. May Christ the Lord conquer all His enemies, including ungodly reporters and theological errors!
