Women's Ordination

A read an article recently (maybe you saw it) that said that a group of women were "ordained" to the Priesthood in the Catholic Church. The quotation marks were in the original article. I do not know the perspective of the author, but he was clearly doubting the reality of this "ordination".

If you have not heard of this (excommunicated) group before, they have been around for a while. They keep doing these ceremonies (it is not Mass, and they are not having ordinations) and claiming that they are Catholic. They have a "Bishop" performing the ceremonies, who was excommunicated from the Church long ago. All of them are Catholics under the discipline of the Church and have been told of their heresy and disobedience. They are all headed to eternal damnation if they do not repent, but that does not seem to deter them.

Here are a couple observations I have: first, in reading the original article, the author of the article is clearly acknowledging that what they are doing is wrong and in disobedience to the Church. Pope Francis has said women cannot be ordained; the Dicastery for Doctrine and Faith has said it as well. Agree with Rome or not, the position is clear and even this author can see it.

Second, the women and men who are doing this are also aware of the reality of the Church's authority in this matter. They themselves said that they "have to disobey the Pope" because he is wrong (according to them). If they did not believe that the Catholic Church (as it exists now, in communion with the Vicar of Christ in Rome) is the original Church Jesus founded they would just go join the Episcopal church here in these USA; after all they "ordain" anyone (male, female, sodomite, etc.). The Episcopal church is just around the corner from "ordaining" their pets.

Thus, we can deduce from this article that those who are neutral, and those who are antagonistic all know that the Catholic Church is the One True Church that Jesus founded 2000 years ago. This is why everyone, down deep, wants to be Catholic. Some resist it, some will rebel against it, most will deny it, but everyone can hear the testimony of the Holy Ghost: Jesus founded His Church and gave the establishment of it to the Apostles. Many people want to destroy it (in various ways), but everyone knows what it is, and where to find it.
