Stupidity Leads to Sin

Reading recently about all the terrorists who think it will help their cause if they burn a Tesla vehicle, caused me to think about the whole subject a little more deeply. First, I will acknowledge that that boxy thing is possibly the ugliest vehicle anyone ever made (why anyone has the nerve to be seen in one is beyond me!), but that is still not a reason to burn one (unless it is your own and you are regretting your decision). The real question, however, is this: does burning a Tesla actually end up helping the Tesla company sell more of the vehicles? After all, when one is destroyed by vandalism, the insurance company (and you have to know that anyone who can afford one of those things has comprehensive insurance) has to purchase a new one to replace the one that was destroyed. So in the end Tesla sells more of their product. Hmmmmm...

Is that what these terrorists are aiming at? I doubt it, but then terrorists are more concerned with causing terror than using any kind of wisdom. This is just one more evidence that sin makes you stupid, and stupidity leads to greater sin. If a person is driven by nothing more than hate, then he will not make good choices in life. He will seek to hurt someone else to make himself feel good (which is an evil in itself). I feel sorry for those who have lost their property, but these acts of violence are hurting the insurance company more than the owner of the vehicle or the auto maker. What would happen if these people actually thought through their behavior and sought a reasonable way to deal with their grievances? Yeah, forget it; not likely.
