St. Nicholas and Ember Wednesday

Happy St. Nicholas Day! Also, happy Ember Wednesday! It is interesting that these two coincide this year. St. Nicholas (a Bishop) was one of the few faithful clergymen during the Arian Controversy. When praying this year for good and faithful Bishops, let us pray to St. Nicholas and ask him to pray for our Bishops. Let us ask him to intercede on their behalf and help them to take a stand for the true Catholic faith and help them to resist compromise and immorality. Let us pray for our own Bishop, Steven Lopes, that all that he does is in accord with the truth, and that he resists the world and stays faithful in guiding us toward Heaven.
