Pronouns

There is a lot of talk these days about everyone having "preferred pronouns". It might better be called everyone's "preferred dream world". How our society got dragged into this justification of people living in a psychotic state and calling it "preferred (anything)" is beyond me. Either way, I read stories occasionally of this or that person having a hissy fit that someone did not use their preferred pronouns, and also about faithful Catholics having to leave jobs because they were being required to say that a woman was a man, or a dog was a cat, or a rocket ship was a pocket knife (or something insane like that).

This seems to be applied across the board. Such that everyone in the entire universe must have their personally chosen preferred pronouns respected and that anyone who uses anything other than the person's choice is automatically evil, hateful, racist, and a nazi. Except God--apparently people do not need to respect His preferred pronouns. God has chosen how to reveal Himself, and it is always with masculine pronouns. God calls Himself "Father" and not "mother". Yet, there are those who want to say that God is "mother" and refer to Him as "her". Even some unhinged Catholics have made statements like this.

So then, if everyone's preferred pronouns are supposed to be respected, then why is God (Who should be respected more than any other being in all of creation) left out by these people? I could (almost) understand if it were only pagans who wanted to be disrespectful towards the Lord by calling Him things He did not want to be called. I am not, however, referring to them. Rather, I speak about those liberal minded Catholics who believe that they are doing something good when they bow down before the idol of modernist ideology.

God is Who He is. Our duty is to learn Who He is and know Him as He is. It is not our duty to create Him in our image and fashion Him in ways that make us comfortable. That was what the devil tried to do (and fell into eternal damnation in doing so). All too often people have wanted God to be something other than what He really is and this is why man invents idols. Idols of wood, stone, paper, and flesh; all idols decay, but God is eternal and not subject to the whims of us mere creatures. Call Him what He says He wants to be called; and make sure that you call other things what He has made them to be (regardless if they want to imagine they are something else).
