I do not usually give links here to other sites, but I want all my readers to hear our own Bishop Lopes. This is him speaking about something very dear to our hearts, especially in this day and age when so many within the Church deny Catholic teachings and try to deceive the faithful. They attempt to deny that doctrine never changes. They rarely say this outright, but instead use statements like, "that's the old way", or, "we believe this now", or even, "you don't have to do that anymore". The worst of all is the devilish insult, "that's not truly Catholic", which is how I heard a Catholic clergyman in the local diocese describe the Divine Worship Mass (as though modernism is what is truly Catholic and the previous 2000 years of Church history were all in error!).

It is sad to acknowledge it, but many within the Church today do not want to believe the truth, and they fight against it tooth and nail. It is not uncommon to experience it in most "Novus Ordo" parishes today (which is not surprising). They are not just resisting something they do not like, they are at war with God. We must be able to fight against this, and the only way we can do so is if we know our faith and can spot a distortion of it a mile away. Read the Catechism (Trent is best!), read the Saints (especially Augustine, Aquinas, and others like Bellarmine, and Francis DeSales), and pray and ask God to help you destroy any errors in your thinking. In the meantime, listen to our beloved Bishop:
