July 4th

If a man's mother is not in the faith, and is on a path towards eternal damnation, then he may still love her, but at the same time mourn for her eternal destiny. When her birthday comes around, it may be very hard for him to celebrate because he loves her so much it agonizes him to think about where she is headed. He may even feel a sense of embarassment over how she behaves and the choices that she makes. Rebellion should never be celebrated, and though he may be thankful that she is still alive so that she can have time to repent, joy can also be hard to find.

I love America, my motherland; but today I mourn and weep for the path that she is on.
