Important Notice

“Fr. Seraiah regrets that it has come to his attention that parishioners dying in the pews are failing to fall down. This practice must stop, as it becomes impossible to distinguish between the peacefulness of people who are dead and the peacefulness of people in prayer. Any parishioner found dead in an upright position will be excommunicated immediately.”

Actually, I am just joking; no, this is not true. Yet, it is true that it is a beautiful sight when people wish to remain in the church in prayer after Mass is over. The current situation at St. George is such that we do not have a separate area for people to enjoy conversation and encourage each other in their faith, so we have to divide the back of the church (the “gathering area”) from the church proper (the “Nave”) by a curtain. This is all that we can do at the current time until we have a larger church.

For the time being, I would ask everyone to be respectful of each other. For those in the back enjoying fellowship, please be respectful of those who want to pray and do whatever you can to avoid disturbing them (especially if you have little children). For those staying in the Nave to pray, please be respectful of those who have already prayed and are wanting to join in sweet fellowship with their brothers and sisters in Christ.

And, everyone, please continue to pray that the Lord will help us to build a new church; a big new church. We need one that will accommodate our entire parish, both today and as it grows for the future. Everyone needs to be ready to give financially to make this project happen, so please be praying about it, and planning for it. We cannot build a new church without the necessary funds to pay for it, and you are the ones who can make all this happen. (Thank you and God bless you!)

What's Different?

I get asked, every once in a while, what is different about the Ordinariate, or about St. George parish in particular. That is never an easy question to answer. I can point to certain things, but that
