Holy Innocents

Today is the Feast of the Holy Innocents; those who were killed when King Herod tried to kill the Christ Child. They were not guilty, but their lives were sacrificed because someone was threatened by the authority of the Lord. Herod was afraid that he would lose his place to a different King and so he tried to eliminate Jesus.

Today there are those who try to stop God from spreading His truth and so they try to eliminate all that opposes them. Some do this by attacking the Church; both from within and from without. Others do it by trying to destroy life; young, old, unborn, any that they can get their clutches on.

Remember today to pray for the unborn. We may have overturned Roe v. Wade, but that does not mean that the fight is over, even in our own state of Missouri. Although they are a minority here, there are still a number of vocal people who want to legalize the murder of even more innocents. Remember to pray for them, and do not give in to their hate.
