Don't Get Numb

Do you realize how hard it is to make fun of stupidity in a society that is filled with stupidity? No one laughs at stupidity much any more because things already are silly. I told a story to someone the other day about a person who is woke and some of the crazy things he did; his response to the story was "yeah, I've seen stuff like that before". Just ten years ago the story would have made most of us stand back in shock.

I worry that we have become a bit callous to insanity. We need to be able to stand up against craziness, but we do not want to become accustomed to it. This is how the devil works: he works to desensitize you to evil so that you will accept it. Let us make sure that our hearts are still (properly) offended by evil. Let us make sure that we do not start accepting "that's the way it is". Let us stay true to our Lord, and pure in our spirits so that we can testify to beauty of holiness.
